I saw the film, both on TV and in a showing at the local library. Seeing the actual before and after paintings was somehow too much for my nerves.

I saw the actual paintings used in the movie. My father urged me to go see them in a special exhibit near the Whitney Museum. I was able to stand the sight of them -and other works by the painter- for ten minutes ! Then I hasted to get out ! My father was surprized and puzzled at my hasty departure, but had to accept my leaving so quickly. He thought I would enjoy them, BUT there are things that hit a raw nerve....

I really am in love with this style, he looks absolutely wonderful. And I really love the contrast and the way the smoke seems to make the connection between the two. Lovely :love:

Hated that book. so. much! But good picture!! The only problem I have with it is that he's not wearing his rings but they can be on the hand at his side.
